Crane Overturns Near Lancaster Wastewater Treatment Works During Delivery
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
On January 30, a crane was delivered to Lancaster Wastewater Treatment Works when it overturned near Stodday Lane. Lancashire County Council requested motorists to avoid the area while crews responded.
The crane is currently in a field awaiting removal, with lifting equipment being arranged for this week. United Utilities confirmed that the crane does not obstruct access or operations at the treatment works, which is part of a £48 million upgrade project. An alternative entrance is being used as a safety precaution until the crane is removed.
