Credo Acquires Hyperlume for $92 Million in Cash
Credo's acquisition of Hyperlume aims to enhance AI infrastructure with microLED technology. The deal reflects a growing trend of Canadian tech firms being acquired by larger U.S. companies, highlighting the need for stronger domestic support in the semiconductor sector.

On September 29, 2025, Credo completed the acquisition of Hyperlume for approximately $92 million USD, as disclosed in a recent SEC filing. The deal includes nearly $9.5 million USD in cash and equivalents, resulting in a net purchase price of over $82.5 million USD.
Hyperlume, founded in 2022, specializes in optical interconnects that improve AI data center efficiency. The startup had previously raised $12.5 million USD in seed funding before the acquisition.
