Creotech Instruments Plans $118 Million Capital Raise for Satellite Factory in Poland
Creotech Instruments aims to raise $118 million to establish a new satellite production facility in Poland by 2029, increasing annual capacity from 10 to approximately 40 satellites. This expansion aligns with a strategic shift towards minisatellites, meeting growing demand for heavier payloads and enhancing Poland's sovereign satellite capabilities.
Creotech Instruments plans a $118 million capital raise to construct a new satellite factory in Poland by 2029, aiming to quadruple production capacity from 10 to about 40 satellites annually. The investment will address a backlog of orders valued at approximately 600 million złoty ($165 million) and support two major government contracts: the Mikroglob Earth observation program and the CAMILA national satellite constellation project, valued at 52 million euros ($61 million).
Creotech's current facility in Piaseczno is operating at full capacity, necessitating the new site selection, expected by the end of the year. The factory will focus on minisatellite production, with plans for platforms like Seagull in 2028 and SWAN by 2029.
Creotech's profitability and backlog position it well in a competitive market, but successful fundraising will be critical to meet its ambitious targets. Poland's growing space sector, highlighted by increasing defense spending and domestic satellite initiatives, presents a favorable backdrop for this expansion.
