Croatia has launched an official procedure under the Espoo Convention against Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the Gornji Horizonti hydropower project. Minister Marija Vučković noted that both countries are signatories to the convention, which mandates consultation for projects that may impact neighboring states.
Croatia's concerns stem from the project's potential negative effects on the Neretva river basin. The Gornji Horizonti project involves diverting water and constructing three hydropower plants: Dabar, Bileća, and Nevesinje, managed by Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske. Croatia is seeking answers regarding the project's environmental implications.
