Croatian Telecom Upgrades AI-Based Cooling System at Zagreb Data Center
Croatian Telecom has upgraded its data center monitoring system in Zagreb with the White Space Cooling Optimization (WSCO) project, in partnership with Siemens. The AI-driven system dynamically manages cooling, removing up to 99% of hot air pockets and improving maintenance efficiency. The upgrade is expected to result in significant energy savings and reduced maintenance costs.

Croatian Telecom has completed the White Space Cooling Optimization (WSCO) project at its Zagreb data center, in collaboration with Siemens. The AI-based system utilizes thermistors to monitor temperature changes, automatically regulating fan airflow and identifying issues.
The implementation has improved cooling efficiency, eliminated hot air pockets, and reduced cooling unit operating hours. Expected energy savings are in the six-figure euro range, enhancing preventive maintenance through machine learning. The data center, operational since 2014, has a total of 900 sqm planned for expansion.
