Crystron Technologies Achieves Milestones in AFIG-Funded Battery Materials Initiative
Crystron Technologies has made significant progress in its battery materials project ahead of schedule, receiving support from Pennsylvania's AFIG Program. This advancement is crucial for enhancing U.S. battery manufacturing capabilities and reducing reliance on foreign supply chains.

Crystron Technologies has reached critical technical and commercial milestones under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's AFIG Program. The company is advancing its lithium-ion-based cathode active material, which has the highest cell voltage on the market, and has begun larger production quantities for testing with OEMs ahead of schedule.
This initiative reduces conventional production steps by 65%, lowers electricity usage by about 80%, and cuts capital and operating costs by roughly 40%, promoting a sustainable supply chain. Crystron's partnerships with Pennsylvania-based companies and Drexel University enhance material diagnostics and manufacturing capabilities. The firm is now engaging investors and commercial partners to expedite its technology's market introduction.
