CSIR-CIMFR Completes India's First Safety Assessment of Hydrogen Compressor-Dispenser
CSIR-CIMFR has completed India's first comprehensive safety assessment of a hydrogen compressor-dispenser at NTPC Ltd in Greater Noida, set to be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on January 26. This assessment ensures safety in high-risk environments and supports the establishment of hydrogen fuel pumps as part of India's national hydrogen mission, aiming to enhance hydrogen infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions. The project involved evaluating flameproof devices and successfully integrating components from various manufacturers.

CSIR-CIMFR conducted the first comprehensive safety assessment of a hydrogen compressor-dispenser in India, located at NTPC Ltd in Greater Noida. Scheduled for inauguration by PM Narendra Modi on January 26, the assessment ensures safety in high-risk environments.
The system will facilitate the establishment of hydrogen fuel pumps and supports India’s national hydrogen mission. The project involved evaluating flameproof devices and safety systems, with successful integration of various components from multiple manufacturers. This technology aims to enhance hydrogen infrastructure, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and lower carbon emissions.
