Cydome Launches Remote Cybersecurity Solution for Offshore Wind Farms
Cydome has introduced Cydome Embedded for Remote Energy Facilities, a cybersecurity solution for offshore wind farms that requires no physical installation and operates on existing VSAT routers. This innovation addresses the cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the rapidly growing offshore renewable energy sector, where only 1% of global wind assets are adequately protected against frequent cyberattacks. By facilitating centralized management and compliance, Cydome's solution aims to enhance security while reducing traditional installation costs and potential revenue losses from turbine downtime.

Cydome has launched Cydome Embedded for Remote Energy Facilities, a cybersecurity solution designed for offshore wind farms that requires no physical installation. This system deploys remotely as a container on existing VSAT routers, enhancing cybersecurity and regulatory compliance for difficult-to-access sites.
The offshore renewable energy sector in Europe operates around 135 wind farms with over 6,000 turbines and has a capacity of 34 GW, experiencing a 40% annual growth in new installations. However, only 1% of global wind assets have adequate cyber protection, with UK assets facing up to 1,000 cyberattack attempts daily.
Traditional on-site installation costs can reach $200,000, and downtime for turbines incurs significant revenue losses. Cydome's solution enables centralized management and compliance for energy facilities, supporting deployment on routers from Peplink, Speedcast, and others.
