Cyprus to Develop National Supercomputing Infrastructure with NVIDIA Support
Cyprus is set to develop a national supercomputing and AI infrastructure with support from NVIDIA and other partners, following President Christodoulides' recent US roadshow. The supercomputer, to be located at the Cyprus Institute, aims to enhance local capabilities for AI and simulation, benefiting various sectors including shipping. Collaborative efforts with local universities are focused on training and creating a sustainable tech ecosystem for research and innovation.

Cyprus is establishing a national supercomputing and AI infrastructure through strategic agreements with NVIDIA, Tenstorrent, and universities, following President Christodoulides' US roadshow in April 2024. John Josephakis, NVIDIA's Global VP, is collaborating with Cypriot officials to implement this project.
The supercomputer will be housed at the Cyprus Institute, enhancing local capabilities for AI and simulation applications. This infrastructure aims to support various sectors, including shipping, by enabling data processing within Cyprus. Training and project planning in collaboration with local universities are underway, with the goal of creating a sustainable tech ecosystem that fosters research and innovation.
