Daejeon City Launches 2026 Rainwater Tank Installation Support Project with 90% Subsidy

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION

Daejeon City is launching the '2026 Rainwater Tank Installation Support Project' aimed at addressing drought and urban water shortages exacerbated by climate change. The project promotes water reuse and decentralized water systems, providing subsidies of up to 90% for installation costs.

Subsidy amounts are KRW 2.97 million for tanks under 1 ton and KRW 3.42 million for tanks over 1 ton. Applications can be submitted from February 23 to March 6, with eligibility determined in June after review by the Water Cycle Committee. The initiative aims to transition to sustainable water management by reducing reliance on centralized supply systems and expanding water reuse.
