Daimler Buses and FEV have created the H₂ Coach, the first hydrogen fuel cell-powered coach, for testing purposes. This technology demonstrator, based on a conventional Setra coach, offers a range of at least 800 kilometers per tank filling and features a Cellcentric fuel cell unit with 300 kW output, two hydrogen tanks with a combined capacity of 46 kg, and a central motor with a maximum output of 400 kW.

The project began with the transformation from diesel to fuel cell electric vehicle, involving the integration of components from Daimler Buses and Daimler Truck. Following TÜV approval, the vehicle was handed over in summer 2025 after two years of development.
