Daimler Truck to Produce 100 Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Hydrogen Tractors in Germany
FUEL CELLHYDROGEN
Daimler Truck is initiating small-scale production of its Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Truck, with 100 hydrogen-powered semi-trailer tractors to be produced at the Wörth plant and delivered starting late 2026. The NextGenH2 Truck features a 300 kW BZA150 fuel cell from Cellcentric and increased tank capacity of 85 kg of liquid hydrogen, enabling a range exceeding 1,000 km.
Production is supported by €226 million in funding from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and state governments. Full-scale production is not expected until the early 2030s due to slow hydrogen infrastructure development.
