Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has issued a request for bids to hire a consultant for a four-month assessment of green hydrogen and carbon capture projects in the Damodar Valley region, which includes West Bengal and Jharkhand. The consultant will develop a detailed work plan and conduct a market assessment.

A key element of the study is analyzing India's hydrogen demand-supply dynamics and grey hydrogen use in major industrial sectors such as steel, fertilizers, and transport. This analysis will aid in determining the scale and design of potential green hydrogen projects.

The consultant will also define project concepts, including technology selection for electrolysers and balance-of-plant systems, and conduct workshops to identify challenges and best practices for decarbonization. The final deliverable will focus on CO₂ capture and valorization through green hydrogen. Bids are due by 31 January 2026.
