Dana Gas Initiates Natural Gas Supplies to Iraqi Power Plant

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have commenced natural gas supplies to the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity's Kirkuk Taza power station, delivering 100 million standard cubic feet per day from the Khor Mor gas processing facility. This initiative is part of a one-year agreement to support electricity generation amid challenges posed by the US-Iran conflict, which has led to security threats and operational disruptions in the Kurdistan region.

The Khor Mor field, with reserves of approximately 1.8 trillion cubic feet, is pivotal for electricity supply in the region. Dana Gas has invested over $4 billion in the Kurdistan Region, creating over 47,000 jobs. The project follows the KM250 expansion, which increased production capacity by 50% to 750 MMscf/d, potentially strengthening energy security and improving electricity reliability in Iraq.
