Data Center Project in Pennes-Mirabeau Faces Controversy Under New Mayor
The data center project in Pennes-Mirabeau is under scrutiny following the new mayor's concerns over environmental impacts. Initiated by Telehouse, the project has prompted local opposition and requires urgent action from the municipality.

The new mayor of Pennes-Mirabeau, Romain Amaro, is addressing the contentious data center project initiated by Telehouse, announced in fall 2025. Located in the Sybilles area, the project encompasses eight buildings across six hectares and has raised environmental concerns among local residents.
The previous mayor, Michel Amiel, signed the construction permit on February 18, which Amaro criticized as a hasty decision. The current administration has a limited timeframe to challenge this permit. The situation highlights the tensions between development and community welfare, indicating potential legal and regulatory implications for future projects.
