Data Center Projects Reach $9.8 Billion in November 2025, With Significant Growth Expected
In November 2025, 22 data center projects commenced construction, with total spending surpassing $9.8 billion, nearly quadrupling the $2.6 billion from November 2024. Year-to-date spending reached $53.7 billion, a 138.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, and projections indicate total 2025 spending will exceed $60 billion.
The average cost of data center projects was $597 million, with a cost per square foot of $960. The average size of data centers decreased from 660,000 square feet to 623,000 square feet over the past year.
The top five states for construction spending are Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Mississippi, and Pennsylvania, accounting for over 74% of total spending.
