DC Max will start construction on the first European AI data center in Dardilly, near Lyon, in September 2026, with an investment exceeding several hundred million euros from Phoenix Group, based in Abu Dhabi. The facility will provide 18 megawatts of power, with 12 megawatts specifically for AI processing across a 4,000 m² area.
This site fulfills essential requirements for high connectivity and electrical capacity, catering to both local and international clients. Further expansion is planned, with additional sites in Bordeaux and other regions over the next five to seven years. The project raises questions about data sovereignty, despite foreign investment, as DC Max asserts operational control over data management.
