D'E Capital's Catemito Battery Energy Storage Project in Chile Receives Environmental Approval for 2028 Operation

WIND ENERGYENERGY STORAGE

D'E Capital's Catemito battery energy storage project in San Bernardo, Chile, has obtained environmental approval and is scheduled to operate in 2028. The facility will feature a capacity of 50 MW and 200 MWh, strategically located in a high electricity consumption area to optimize storage during peak demand.

The system will provide ancillary services including frequency control and backup, aiding the integration of solar and wind power. Although the project does not require network expansion, potential operational restrictions may arise due to network congestion. Solar Uno is responsible for meeting connection standards and paying a $33,000 fee to the Metropolitan Transmission Company.
