DE-CIX Launches AI Internet Exchange for Multi-Agent Communication
DE-CIX is establishing an AI Internet Exchange to support low-latency training of AI models across multiple data centers, leveraging Ultra Ethernet technology in partnership with Nokia. This initiative aims to enhance the sovereignty of AI training within countries, enabling efficient GPU resource sharing.

DE-CIX is developing an AI Internet Exchange aimed at facilitating low-latency training of AI models and multi-agent communication. Utilizing Ultra Ethernet technology, in partnership with Nokia, DE-CIX plans to create a 'community of GPUs' across various data centers to meet the increasing demands for GPU resources.
For effective AI training, latency must be maintained between three to five milliseconds, with a maximum distance of 400 km between data centers. The company operates in Brazil since August 2025 and connects multiple data centers in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Globally, DE-CIX is present in 60 markets, handling 80 exabytes of traffic in the previous year, a 20% increase from 2024, with a capacity of 200 Tbps. As the demand for AI interconnectivity grows among large enterprises across various sectors, DE-CIX's new routing solution is expected to optimize costs and reduce complexity in data management.
