DeCarbon has signed a business cooperation agreement with GN Innovation to promote projects that integrate medical waste treatment with hydrogen energy production. GN Innovation specializes in sterilizing and crushing medical waste, reducing it to general waste for safer disposal.
DeCarbon is involved in a demonstration project using GN Innovation's technology for outsourced medical waste processing. The partnership aims to develop phased projects targeting medical waste from healthcare facilities, covering sterilization, transportation, and integration with hydrogen production.
They will share infrastructure, participate in joint projects, and develop a safety management framework. A pilot test bed will be established in Seo-gu, Incheon, with trial operations set for the first half of 2026. DeCarbon has also applied for regulatory sandbox participation to facilitate testing of its waste-to-hydrogen solutions.
