Deep Space Energy Develops Generator for Lunar Electricity Production
SPACE ECONOMYSOLAR ENERGY
Deep Space Energy, a Latvian company, is developing a generator prototype to produce electricity on the Moon, potentially supporting lunar rovers and exploration. This technology could significantly boost Latvia's economy by participating in lunar resource acquisition.
The generator utilizes radioactive materials, converting heat into electricity with five times the efficiency of existing methods. Testing is planned for 2026 in Luxembourg and with Airbus in the UK, targeting a Moon mission by 2030. The technology may also enhance energy independence for military satellites, currently reliant on solar power.
