Delhi Jal Board to Maximize Water Production During Summer Months
Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that all major water treatment plants will operate at full capacity this summer to meet increased demand. The government has implemented a comprehensive plan, including the deployment of additional tubewells and water tankers, to address shortages and improve overall water supply management.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta confirmed that all major water treatment plants in Delhi will function at peak capacity this summer to meet rising demand. The Delhi government is enhancing water supply by deploying 1,210 water tankers, with an additional 100 on standby, targeting high-demand areas such as Sangam Vihar and Chhatarpur.
The number of operational tubewells has increased from 5,834 to 6,200, and 172 km of old pipelines were replaced during 2025-26. A central control room and 28 emergency centres have been established to address supply issues, ensuring a rapid response to complaints.
The government has also coordinated with Haryana to monitor ammonia levels in shared water resources. Enhancements in water infrastructure and emergency planning may mitigate the impact of potential shortages as temperatures rise.
