Denmark Invests in Low-Carbon Industrial Gas Conversion Research
Innovation Fund Denmark allocates DKK24.6m to Gas2X project, aiming to transform industrial waste gases into sustainable products, enhancing decarbonization efforts and technological leadership.

Innovation Fund Denmark is investing DKK24.6 million ($3.75 million) in the Gas2X research project, which focuses on converting industrial waste gases into low-carbon products. This initiative, a collaboration between Unibio and Again, aims to develop a continuous gas fermentation platform at Unibio's Innovation Centre in Kalundborg, enhancing Denmark's industrial biotechnology capabilities.
The platform will facilitate the conversion of CO2, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and methane into low-carbon chemicals, addressing the need for scalable infrastructure in the green transition. The project also targets the optimization of mass transfer and reactor design for improved energy efficiency. This initiative is crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in hard-to-abate sectors while creating new growth opportunities.
