DESNZ Updates Supply Chain Plan Guidance for 300MW Solar and Onshore Wind CfD Applications
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has revised its guidance for the Supply Chain Plan in Allocation Round 8 for solar and onshore wind projects exceeding 300MW. Applicants are required to complete a technology-specific questionnaire and secure approval from the Secretary of State to qualify for a Contract for Difference (CfD), with an emphasis on enhancing supply chain efficiency and reducing costs for low carbon electricity generation. DESNZ will provide feedback on rejected applications, allowing for revisions, but final approval remains uncertain.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has updated its guidance for the Supply Chain Plan in Allocation Round 8 for solar and onshore wind projects over 300MW. Applicants must submit a technology-specific questionnaire to qualify for a Contract for Difference (CfD), along with approval from the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero.
The Supply Chain Plan focuses on green growth, infrastructure, innovation, and skills to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs for low carbon electricity generation. The application consists of a questionnaire with five sections, excluding a non-scored project summary.
DESNZ will provide feedback on rejected applications, allowing for revised submissions, but approval is not guaranteed. Successful projects must implement the Supply Chain Plan and obtain confirmation from DESNZ.
