The Duffy BESS project in Matagorda County is progressing towards construction following new financing secured by DESRI. On February 18, DESRI announced a preferred equity investment in the 235-megawatt, two-hour-duration battery energy storage facility developed by Linea Energy.

Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. In December 2025, Linea had already closed project debt financing and issued a full notice to proceed, indicating readiness for construction.
