DEWA Unveils 2GW PV and 8.4GWh Storage in Seventh Phase of Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) presented the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park at the Dubai International Project Management Forum. This phase will add 2,000 MW of photovoltaic capacity and a 1,400 MW battery storage system, totaling 8,400 MWh.

The project aims to increase Dubai's clean energy contribution and expand the solar park's capacity to over 8,000 MW. Currently, the park has 3,860 MW installed capacity. DEWA targets a 36% clean energy share in Dubai's energy mix by 2030, up from 25%, aiming to reduce carbon emissions by over 8.5 million tonnes annually.
