DGIST Faculty Startups Citicells and Solitech Selected for 2025 Scale-up TIPS R&D Funding
Two startups from DGIST, Citicells and Solitech, have been chosen for the 2025 Scale-up TIPS R&D funding by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, each securing KRW 1.52 billion. Citicells, focused on precision medicine, is developing an AI-based liquid biopsy platform, while Solitech is working on all-solid-state batteries to improve energy storage and safety. This recognition highlights DGIST's commitment to advancing innovation in biotechnology and energy sectors.

Two startups from DGIST, Citicells and Solitech, have been selected for the 2025 Scale-up TIPS R&D support project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Citicells, a precision medicine biotech firm founded by Professor Kim Min-seok, secured KRW 1.52 billion in funding, including KRW 1.14 billion in government subsidies.
The company is developing an AI-based liquid biopsy platform to detect circulating tumor cells and tumor microenvironment cells in blood samples. Solitech, founded by Professor Lee Ho-chun, also received KRW 1.52 billion in funding for developing all-solid-state batteries using solid electrolytes, aiming to enhance energy storage capacity while reducing fire risks. Both companies are recognized for their innovative technologies in biotechnology and energy, showcasing DGIST's commitment to fostering industrial competitiveness.
