Digital Realty to Acquire Columbia Capital, Expand Global Data Center Footprint
Digital Realty is set to acquire Columbia Capital for approximately $485 million, enhancing its data center capabilities. This acquisition, alongside an increased stake in Teraco and entry into the Kansas City market, represents a total investment of about $1.61 billion aimed at meeting rising demand for cloud and AI infrastructure.

Digital Realty plans to acquire Columbia Capital for $485 million via 2.3 million shares of common stock, with closure expected in H2 2026. Concurrently, it will boost its ownership in Teraco from 61% to 77% for about $650 million, funded through the issuance of 3.4 million shares.
The Kansas City expansion involves acquiring 1,440 acres at Astra Enterprise Park for $475 million, aimed at supporting hyperscale data center development. An energy services agreement will provide 600 megawatts of power by early 2028. The combined transactions enhance Digital Realty’s position in key markets and address growing demands in the AI and cloud sectors.
