Digital Realty to Acquire Cyberjaya Data Center, Expanding Southeast Asia Operations

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Digital Realty is set to acquire the TelcoHub 1 data center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, as part of its expansion into Southeast Asia. This facility is a major dark fiber interconnect hub with over 6,000 fiber cores and 40+ network service providers.

The acquisition, along with adjacent land for 14 megawatts of additional IT load, is anticipated to close in the first half of 2026. Once integrated into Digital Realty's PlatformDIGITAL, the campus will enhance global connectivity and support hybrid infrastructure management through the ServiceFabric solution.

Malaysia's data center capacity is projected to grow from 1.26 gigawatts in 2025 to 2.53 gigawatts by 2030, driven by demand for cloud services and government support. Digital Realty's entry aims to bolster local digital infrastructure and sustainability efforts in collaboration with Malaysian stakeholders.
