DigitalBridge Group, Inc. and Japan Extensive Infrastructure, Limited have completed the acquisition of select data center assets from NEC Corporation in the Greater Tokyo and Kansai regions. The transaction will result in a standalone platform operated by DigitalBridge and JEXI, with NEC remaining the primary customer to ensure stable demand.
This marks DigitalBridge's second acquisition in Japan, following its earlier take-private of JTOWER Inc. in 2025, emphasizing the firm's strategy to align with local market demands and capitalize on structural growth in digital infrastructure. The partnership aims to enhance data center flexibility and meet evolving customer needs in Japan, potentially impacting competition in the region's colocation market.
