DigitalOcean Appoints Vinay Kumar as Chief Product and Technology Officer to Enhance AI Infrastructure Strategy
DigitalOcean Holdings Inc. has appointed Vinay Kumar as its first Chief Product and Technology Officer as of January 20, 2026. His role will focus on overseeing product strategy, development, cloud infrastructure, and security while advancing the company's AI inference capabilities.
DigitalOcean serves over 640,000 customers and recently showcased its Inference Cloud Platform, which utilizes AMD Instinct GPUs to deliver enhanced production inference throughput for Character.ai. The company reported Q3 2025 revenue of $230 million, a 16% year-over-year increase, and raised its 2025 revenue guidance to $896-$897 million.
DigitalOcean also secured 30 megawatts of new data center capacity for 2026 to meet AI demand. This strategic hire aims to strengthen DigitalOcean's position in the AI infrastructure market, which is projected to exceed $100 billion.
