Dimsum Energy and Goldwind Africa Launch 1.5 GW Renewable Energy Project in Eastern Cape
Dimsum Energy and Goldwind Africa have initiated a partnership to develop a 1.5 GW renewable energy cluster in Eastern Cape, South Africa. The project, with an investment of R40 billion (approximately US$2.1 billion), aims for financial close by 2027, contributing to the region's clean energy expansion and grid stabilization efforts.

Dimsum Energy and Goldwind Africa have partnered to create a 1.5 GW renewable energy project in South Africa's Eastern Cape, featuring 700 MW of wind, 800 MW of solar PV, and a battery energy storage system of 400-500 MW capacity. The financial close is targeted for 2027, aligning with national clean energy goals.
The initiative is expected to enhance the region's energy profile, supported by R1 billion infrastructure investments for grid improvements. Dimsum Energy will manage project development, while Goldwind Africa will provide wind turbine technology and expertise to maximize efficiency.
