DNV Facilitates $325 Million Financing for Major Battery and Solar Project in Chile
DNV has facilitated a $325 million financing package for T Power, a renewable energy platform managed by Toesca, to develop a major battery energy storage system and solar generation portfolio in Chile. The project includes a 141 MW/677 MWh battery system, refinancing of a solar PV plant, and 18 distributed solar facilities, aimed at stabilizing the power system and supporting the country's decarbonization goals. This financing, arranged with international lenders, underscores confidence in Chile's renewable energy market.

DNV acted as market consultant for a $325 million financing package for T Power, a renewable energy platform managed by Toesca, aimed at developing one of Chile's largest battery energy storage systems and a solar generation portfolio. The financing will support a 141 MW/677 MWh battery energy storage system, refinance a 141 MW solar PV plant, and fund 18 distributed solar facilities totaling 121 MWp.
Arranged with international lenders including SMBC, Natixis, and BCI, the financing reflects confidence in Chile's renewable energy market. This project is expected to stabilize the power system, reduce renewable energy curtailment, and support Chile's decarbonization goals. DNV provided market due diligence, PPA analysis, and revenue modeling, enhancing the project's bankability within a rapidly transforming electricity sector dominated by renewable energy.
