The Dominican Republic will build a commercial spaceport in Pedernales, with an investment exceeding $600 million, as announced by President Luis Abinader. The spaceport aims to facilitate satellite or rocket launches by May 2028, following negotiations with Launch on Demand and U.S. investment funds led by Burton Cantlich.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to diversify the economy through technological partnerships, including collaborations with Nvidia for AI training and Google’s $500 million investment in a digital exchange hub.
