The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project aims to reduce travel time between Pasay and Bacoor to 25 minutes and increase daily ridership to 800,000.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is allocating P75 million to develop facilities at a relocation site for informal settler families (ISFs) displaced by the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) expansion. The funding was transferred to the local government of General Trias, Cavite, for the construction of essential amenities in Kalinga Village, a resettlement area in Barangay Santiago.
These facilities will include a public park, school, and water utility, aimed at creating a livable community. Currently, Kalinga Village is 81% occupied, housing 1,374 of 1,698 units for ISFs from Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Bacoor.
Additional facilities are expected to be completed this year. The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project will extend the line by 11 kilometers, significantly reducing travel time between Pasay and Bacoor to 25 minutes and increasing daily ridership to 800,000.
