Dow Launches 525 kV HVDC Insulation System for Enhanced Power Transmission
Dow introduces a 525 kV HVDC insulation system, enhancing capacity and efficiency for long-distance power transmission. This advancement supports the integration of renewable energy into national grids and addresses the rising demand for reliable energy infrastructure.

Dow has launched a fully qualified 525 kV HVDC insulation system designed to meet the demands of modern power transmission networks. This system is part of the ENDURANCE™ Compounds for Cable Systems portfolio and features a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) compound, ENDURANCE™ HFDB-4401 UDC, and a semiconductive compound, ENDURANCE™ HFDB-0840 BK UDC, aimed at improving cable performance and reliability.
The insulation system can operate at temperatures up to 90°C, exceeding the standard of 70°C, which enhances power transmission capacity and operational flexibility. Rigorous qualification ensures readiness for deployment in critical energy infrastructure projects, particularly in renewable energy integration and cross-border exchanges. This development positions Dow to meet the increasing industry demand for robust cable insulation solutions.
