Dross Engineering Develops Innovative Furnace Solutions and Joins Aura Métal Group
Dross Engineering, founded in 1973, specializes in furnace innovation and recycling solutions. Notably, it developed the TRF in 1990, setting global standards in aluminium melting. By 2024, over 150 TRF units will operate in 40 countries. The company transitioned from THERMCO to Dross Engineering in 2001 and joined the Aura Métal group in 2023, enhancing its industrial capabilities while manufacturing all systems in-house.

Dross Engineering, established in 1973, has been a leader in furnace innovation and recycling solutions. In 1990, it introduced the Tilting Rotary Furnace (TRF), modernizing aluminium melting techniques and achieving energy consumption of 350-400 kWh per tonne.
By 2024, over 150 TRF units will operate in 40 countries. The company rebranded from THERMCO to Dross Engineering in 2001 and joined the Aura Métal group in 2023, solidifying its industrial base in France. It manufactures all equipment in-house, ensuring quality and reliability for a range of aluminium recycling solutions.
