DTE Energy Accepts MPSC Conditions for OpenAI and Oracle Data Center in Michigan
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
DTE Energy has accepted the Michigan Public Service Commission's conditions for special contracts to power a 1.4-gigawatt data center project for OpenAI and Oracle in Saline Township. The MPSC's approval, dated December 18, 2025, includes stipulations that the aggregate revenues generated will cover service costs.
Attorney General Dana Nessel has called for a rehearing of the approval due to concerns over the rapid process. This data center is set to be Michigan's largest, consuming electricity equivalent to over one million homes.
