HYDROGEN

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received its first batch of 250 new buses, part of a larger contract for 735 multi-size buses that meet Euro 6 low-carbon emissions standards. This includes 40 electric buses, marking the UAE's largest electric bus procurement.

The electric bus, tailored for Dubai, has a range of 280 km on a single charge and a 434 kWh battery. The initial delivery also includes 400 MAN city-service buses, 149 Zhongtong buses, 76 Volvo double-decker buses, and 70 Isuzu articulated buses, all designed to enhance public transport service. The RTA aims for all public transport to be powered by clean energy by 2050 and is implementing a Zero-Emission Public Transport Strategy to convert all buses to electric and hydrogen power.
