Dubai's First Commercial Vertiport for Air Taxis Achieves Technical Completion
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority and Skyports Infrastructure announced the technical completion of the world's first commercial vertiport designed for eVTOL aircraft, located near Dubai International Airport. Operations are expected to start before the end of 2026, marking a significant advancement in urban air mobility infrastructure and connectivity.

The world's first commercial vertiport, located by Dubai International Airport, has achieved technical completion and is set to accommodate electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This facility, spanning 3,100m² over four floors, can handle up to 170,000 passengers and 42,000 aircraft movements annually.
It features advanced charging infrastructure and integrates with the Emirates Metro Station. Dubai plans to expand this network with additional nodes at Dubai Marina, Dubai Mall, and Palm Jumeirah. The station will facilitate rapid passenger turnaround and is designed to meet high safety standards. Joby Aviation, in partnership with RTA, is progressing towards commercial operations, with a focus on sustainability and urban mobility.
