Dublin Consortium Secures €2.3M Grant for Development of Heat Transfer Fluid Additives

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

A consortium based in Dublin has received a €2.3 million grant from the Irish government's Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund to develop heat-transfer-fluid additives aimed at improving cooling efficiency in data centers, solid-state heat pumps, and electric batteries. The grant is awarded to the DLCool consortium, led by HT Materials Science (HTMS) in collaboration with Dublin City University (DCU) and Exergyn Ltd.

HTMS's product, Maxwell, is a drop-in fluid additive designed to enhance energy efficiency by up to 15% in various HVAC systems. The Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund, established in 2018, has a total budget of €500 million under the National Development Plan.
