DVC Implements 2-Day Traffic Suspension on Panchet Dam for Renovation Work
The Damodar Valley Corporation has suspended traffic on the Panchet Dam route from June 25-26 due to critical renovation work. This closure affects thousands of commuters traveling between Jharkhand and West Bengal, necessitating longer detours and increased travel time.

The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has ordered a two-day suspension of traffic on the Panchet Dam route from June 25 to June 26 for essential renovation, modernization, and up-gradation work at the Panchet Hydropower Station. All vehicle types will be restricted from 8 AM to 8 PM daily, impacting routes for commuters traveling to regions including Dhanbad, Nirsa, and Chirkunda, as well as areas in West Bengal.
The DVC advises using alternative routes such as Chirkunda-Barakar or Maithon. This closure could lead to increased travel distances and fuel consumption for many users of this vital link between Jharkhand and West Bengal.
