EBRD Proposes €40 Million Loan for 50 MW Solar Project with Battery Storage in Tunisia
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to provide a loan of up to €40 million for a 50 MW solar project in Tunisia, which includes a 20 MWh battery storage system. The funding request was submitted by the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) and is pending feasibility study. The financing will support the development and construction of the solar park and high-voltage infrastructure for grid connection. The project, located in Tataouine, has a total investment estimated at €60 million and has already secured a senior loan of up to €20 million from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF).
