The EBRD is considering a loan up to €40 million for a 50 MW solar project in Tunisia, which includes a 20 MWh battery storage system. The funding request was made by STEG and is awaiting a feasibility study.

The loan will aid in developing and constructing the solar park and the necessary high-voltage infrastructure to connect to the national grid. Located in the Tataouine governorate, the project has an estimated total investment of €60 million and has already secured a senior loan of up to €20 million from the CTF.
