EcoGraf Updates BFS for Epanko Graphite Project in Tanzania, Targets 390,000tpa Production
EcoGraf has updated the bankable feasibility study for its Epanko graphite project in Tanzania, enhancing project viability. The new study outlines a $516 million Stage 1 development with increased throughput of 73,000 tonnes per annum and incorporates EcoGraf's HFfree technology. The project is backed by a 16.7 million tonnes ore reserve and aims to meet growing demand in the EV and lithium-ion battery sectors, with potential expansions to 390,000tpa planned over the next decade.

EcoGraf has significantly updated its bankable feasibility study for the Epanko graphite project in Tanzania, enhancing its viability. The final BFS details a $516 million Stage 1 development with an increased throughput of 73,000 tonnes per annum, based on an updated ore reserve of 16.7 million tonnes grading 8.2% total graphite carbon.
The project will utilize EcoGraf's patented HFfree technology and is supported by an initial capital investment of $95 million. Future expansions could increase production to 390,000tpa to meet the rising demand from the electric vehicle and battery sectors. The project benefits from an established transport corridor and grid power access.
