EDC Secures CAD$360 Million Financing for SK ecoplant in Strategic Partnership
Export Development Canada (EDC) has finalized a CAD$360 million financing deal with SK ecoplant, marking a significant milestone in their strategic partnership. This financing aims to enhance bilateral trade relations and support projects in semiconductor manufacturing and data centers.

EDC has announced a financing package of approximately CAD$360 million to SK ecoplant, the AI infrastructure solutions arm of SK Group. This transaction, which includes a KRW 292.5 billion guaranteed facility with Standard Chartered, represents EDC's inaugural transaction under its Market Leader Partnership established with SK Group in 2024.
The financing will primarily support SK ecoplant's corporate needs, focusing on semiconductor and data center initiatives. EDC's recent activities in South Korea show a substantial increase in business, with total facilitated business rising from CAD$910 million in 2024 to CAD$1.35 billion in 2025. This collaboration could stimulate significant trade growth between Canada and South Korea, particularly in advanced manufacturing and technology sectors.
