EGA to Acquire 80% Stake in Italian Recycler Eco Green for European Expansion
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) plans to acquire an 80% stake in Eco Green, enhancing its aluminium recycling capacity across Europe. This acquisition positions EGA to significantly increase its recycling capacity to over 400,000 tonnes per year, meeting rising demand as global recycled aluminium needs are projected to double by 2040.

EGA intends to acquire an 80% stake in Eco Green, an Italian aluminium recycling firm, pending regulatory approvals. This acquisition will elevate EGA's recycling capacity to over 400,000 tonnes annually across the UAE, Europe, and the US, with an additional 200,000 tonnes under development.
Eco Green processes over 70,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap yearly and is expanding its Nogara di Verona facility to add 15,000 tonnes of capacity by mid-2026. Analysts foresee global recycled aluminium demand doubling by 2040, emphasizing the strategic importance of this acquisition for EGA's growth in a rapidly evolving market.
