Egypt and Denmark Discuss Collaboration in Clean and Renewable Energy

Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat, met with Denmark's ambassador to Egypt, Lars Bo Møller, to discuss enhancing cooperation in clean and renewable energy. The meeting, held on February 19, 2026, focused on localizing the production of solar and wind energy equipment and strengthening the power grid as part of Egypt's national energy strategy.
Egypt aims for renewable energy to account for over 42% of its electricity mix by 2030 and 65% by 2040. Esmat highlighted the importance of private sector involvement and training programs. Møller expressed Denmark's interest in increasing investments in Egypt's clean energy projects.
