The National Navigation Company has received two new Kamsarmax bulk carriers, Wadi Al-Nil and Wadi Al-Qamar, from China's New Hantong Shipyard. Each vessel has a deadweight capacity of 82,000 tonnes, a length of 229 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, and a draft of 14.5 meters.
Powered by a 7,490-kilowatt MAN B&W engine and equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system, these vessels meet international environmental standards. They also feature ballast water management systems and advanced navigation technologies.
The fuel capacity of 2,054 cubic meters enables up to 90 days of continuous operation, with seawater desalination plants producing 20 tonnes of fresh water daily. This modernization supports Egypt's strategic goals in the shipping industry.
