Lakeland Dairies has committed to substantial investments at the LacPatrick Dairies site in Co. Tyrone after facing £115,000 in fines for environmental violations. This investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment infrastructure and enhanced monitoring systems.
The company stated that the breaches were due to unintended operational circumstances and it remains dedicated to achieving high environmental standards. Additionally, Lakeland has set the milk price for July at 38.5c/L in the Republic of Ireland, reflecting a 1c/L increase from the previous month, and 30.9p/L in Northern Ireland, up by 0.8p/L.
