The Egyptian Aluminum Company (Egyptalum) is set to expand its production capacity by 800,000 tons, with a rehabilitation of the existing smelter projected to extend its operational life by 20 years. Minister of the Public Business Sector, Eng.
Mohamed Shimi, discussed these initiatives during a visit to Egyptalum in Nag Hammadi, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with legislative bodies to foster industrial growth and attract investment. The plans include a new factory and innovative projects such as a wire machine and alumina refinery. These developments aim to modernize the company and enhance its role in Egypt's economy, while also supporting exports and reducing import dependency.
